A coming new year... and more Snow!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
as you know, my birthday is in January, and that's when the snow and Ice storms spring up around west plains. the best sledding conditions: 3 inches snow, 1 inch of ice covering. with the ice and snow, you're sled will speed down any hill at break neck speed.
that pond over there is Blue heron*, as we've named it, is all iced over. when our pond gets icy, we put on our rubber boots and skate all over it.
you wouldn't expect it, but with rubber boots, you can  go far.
it is a lot of fun to zoom all the way to the other side, slipping sliding, and in some cases, falling.
*we call it Blue heron Because in spring and summer, great blue herons come over to the ponds around us. they don't particularly go there more then the other ponds. that was were we first saw one though.
 dads car is parked in the barn, so that it won't get all iced up. this what it looks like when no one has stepped out the door, after, it looks all trampled, not as white.
                                       in a 'white winter wonder land.'
                    Skating,sledding,snow fights, snow cream, snowmen and chocolate.
the Barn is Beautifully decorated, even without lights. in the early morning, it is wonderful to come out in the morning and be the first to touch the sparkling White and silver.
             I am looking forward to another Iced and Snowy January for my birthday.
